Marie and Murphy

Here it is September already. It has been a busy summer. Tyler, Robby and Heidi have enjoyed days at the dog park and doggie day care. Yesterday we went to the dog park. We now have another member of our pack. A friend from Germany has joined our family. Her name is Marie and what a wonderful person she is. She has a small Jack Russell/Lab mix. ( yes, that is what I said! His name is Murphy. I was concerned at first how the rest of the pack would do but Robby and Murphy have become inseparable. The dog park has become a favorite. It was hard to tell who had the most fun. Heidi jumped in the pond with the big boys. Tyler had never jumped in anything but a wading pool so he was a little timid about the pond but I trust in a few more trips he will jump in like the rest. Robby and Murphy swam like little fish. They were hysterical.

Happy independence day from Tyler, Heidi, and Robby

We just enjoyed the 4th of July. My fur kids do not think much of the fire works. However they did pretty well considering how long they lasted. Tyler spent much of the day in the wading pool, Heidi on her step surveying the back yard activities and Robby as usual in the house. He is such a people dog. He always wants to be with us inside.

Animals are such unique creatures. They can tell you in a minute what they want without saying a word. How do they do that? Somehow you can just read them! They have me well trained. They are the loves of my life. They give and they love so unconditionally.

Summer of the dogs

It is summer time and oh how the dogs love the outdoors. Tyler is my 14 year old Jack Russell Terrier who is actually going on 3; Heidi is my 10 year old Chow and Robby is a Jack Russell that I am fostering for his human dad who is in the military. Tyler my oldest Jack loves to soak in the little yellow tub which we refer to as his "tea cup." Robby who is nine, is a very active Jack and gets along well with Heidi and Tyler. They bring me such joy. I can be having the worst day and one look at their faces makes me laugh and all is well with the world.
I often wonder if animals notice things that we change about ourselves. For instance, I had my hair colored the other day. When I came home I wondered if they were talking about me! They probably said " OMG! What did mom do to her hair? And she thinks that looks good??? maybe they don't notice things like that. Just once I would love to know what my animals are thinking. Animals are much smarter than people give them credit for. Guess I will never know huh?
